The start of the interview activities in the Philippines with an excellent time of young interviewers and a very friendly chief nurse who even took time for us on a Sunday.

The Philippine tarsier. They are called the smallest monkey in the world and can easily fit my hand.

The Chocolate Hills in the Philippines. Survey sites close to nature's beauty make field work
even more attractive.

An Ivorian friend preparing dinner for us. She is dressed in typical "pagne" which is a very

Doing a survey... After the survey was completed by the enumerators they sent the question-
naires back. The office was used as a storage room. There the questionnaires were waiting to be electronically processed. Despite the lack of space, work was possible because we were

Inside Senegal: On our trip to a remote village we passed through Touba and visited the Great
Mosque. It's said to be one of the biggest mosques in Africa and an important place of pilgrimage.
The annual pilgrimage to Touba is called the "Grand Magal". My driver proudly showed me around
and even more happily posed for a picture in front of the Great Mosque.
