An Ivorian friend preparing dinner for us. She is
dressed in typical "pagne", which is a very comfortable piece of cloth (!), often worn by women at home.

I was invited to a wedding in Abidjan without the groom
being informed. He was surprised, the bride took it with
a smile. A souvenir picture had to be taken.

Doing a survey... After the survey was completed by
the enumerators they had sent their questionnaires
back. The office was used as a storage room. There
the questionnaires were waiting to be electronically
processed. Despite the lack of space, work was
possible because we were eager to proceed and to
learn more about the contents of the survey.

Survey part 3: As I said, while entering data, we had
a highly professional working atmosphere. These
guys were great and made record time. The reason
was simple: Efficiency wages. We were done in less
than a third of the time that was scheduled.

The Conference "Women's Bargaining Power and
Economic Development" which took place in The
Hague (The Netherlands) gave me the opportunity
to visit the World Peace Flame. But despite the
proximity to the flame, I was freezing as it was a
cold and windy February day. Now I live and work in this beautiful city. It's not always as cold as in
February 2011.

Inside Senegal: On our trip to a remote village we
passed through Touba and visited the Great
Mosque. It's said to be one of the biggest mosques
in Africa and an important place of pilgrimage. The
annual pilgrimage to Touba is called the "Grand
Magal". My driver proudly showed me around and
even more happily posed for a picture in front of the
Great Mosque.
